The peak season of the e-commerce industry in 2022 is underway. In the context of the current severe inflation in Europe and the United States, in order to promote local consumer consumption, Amazon France has launched a buyer's flexible financing plan.
The program, called the FCF Flexible Buyer Financing Program, allows consumers to purchase eligible products from sellers in 4 free installments (4 installments of the same amount, with no interest charged within 90 days) on Amazon France. The program applies to items listed by sellers on Continuation France, priced between 60 euros and 2,000 euros. However, for products priced below 75 euros, interest-free payments are only possible when the buyer's order total reaches 75 euros. Amazon plans to charge for the program by January 31, 2023.
To put it simply, this program is the so-called "buy now, pay later", and sellers can indeed bring more sales for themselves by opening this function. It’s just that this feature has certain limitations. Buyers need to spend more than 75 euros to pay interest-free, and they only need to pay on time to alleviate the problem of insufficient funds.
Amazon said merchants who want to see if a product qualifies can go to the "Eligible Products" tab on the product page. Merchants can click "Register" to register each product separately, or use the "Bulk Upload" option to register multiple products that meet the requirements at one time, or click "Register all products that meet the requirements".
In addition, merchants can choose the duration of the registered items, up to one year. For bulk registered items, all items will have the same start date and end date. Registration becomes effective and visible to buyers within 24 hours of the merchant's request. In terms of using installments, the ASIN details page and other payment sections of products that meet the installment conditions will display free installment payments. Buyers are directed to a third-party payment solution provider's page to fill out an application and get approved. Once approved, the third-party payment solution provider will automatically debit the payment from the bank account specified by the buyer at the time of purchase.
