As an Amazon seller, in order to maintain a steady stream of profits, new products are regularly developed. A very common question is also asked by many novice sellers before listing. "Do I need certification for this product?"
Different service providers or sellers have different answers to this question, some say they need it, some say they don't.
I recently contacted an Amazon seller friend who listed toy products on Amazon. As soon as the first batch of goods arrived at the FBA warehouse, I received an email from Amazon and the product was banned! CPC certification required! !
But this seller friend purchased the product online, and the factory does not provide CPC certification!
Therefore, special attention should be paid to certification issues!
It's better to be slower on the shelves, and you must first confirm whether you want to be certified!
If you don't know where to confirm, come here!
Amazon Seller Central has launched a new function for querying product certification – "Compliance Reference"!
Through the "Compliance Reference" function query, you can know the compliance requirements of various types of products sold on Amazon, such as children's toys, hair dryers, lamps, power banks and other products!
The specific query method is as follows:
The first step is to log in to the backend of the Amazon store and click on the "Inventory" – "Add New Product" page.
The second step, at the bottom of this page, click "Compliance Reference".
The third step is to enter the compliance reference page. On this page, first of all, you need to select the address of the shipping country and the address of the country of sale. For example, if we are a Chinese seller and sell on the US site, then we will select "china" for the shipping address and "United States" for the address of the selling country.
After the above selection is completed, continue to inquire. The following two methods can be used to inquire whether the product requires certification.
1. Search using keyword/product type or HS code.
2. Search using product type.
Let's start with the first method: search using keyword/product type or HS code.
That is, query by using keywords or HS codes. For example, if you want to sell decorative string lights on the US site, you can type "String light" and click "View Help Content".
The query results show that the listing of "String light" products requires UL588 certification.
Second method: search using product type. That is, using category search, you can first look at the front desk to see which categories your peers put products in, and then you go to the category node, and then click "View Help Content". As shown in the figure below, if you want to see which certifications a toy needs, then you select the category it is in, and then click "View Help Content" to query.
However, not all products can be put on the shelves. As shown in the picture below, the search results are prohibited from being sold on the Amazon store, so you don't have to worry about it, and quickly change to other products.
This method is simple and easy to use. With it, check the products on the shelves, and think about whether you can prepare these certification materials if you really encounter an audit, so that you can have a little ac count in your heart.
