CE certification for electric fans
Electric fan, referred to as electric fan, is a household appliance that uses a motor to drive the fan blades to rotate to accelerate the circulation of air. It is mainly used for cooling and relieving heat and circulating air. The fan is mainly composed of fan head, blade, grille and control device. The main components of the electric fan are: AC motor. Its working principle is: the energized coil rotates under force in the magnetic field. Electrical energy is converted into mechanical energy, and at the same time, due to the coil resistance, it is inevitable that a part of the electrical energy must be converted into thermal energy.
The export of electric fans to the European Union requires mandatory CE certification. The working voltage is above 75V DC and above 50V AC needs to be tested for EMC+LVD!
CE certification standards for electric fans:
EN 60335-1: Safety of household and similar electrical appliances. Part 1: General requirements
EN 55014-1: Electromagnetic compatibility. Requirements for household appliances, power tools and similar electrical appliances. Part 1: Interference emissions. Product category standard
EN 55014-2: Electromagnetic compatibility. Requirements for household appliances, power tools and similar electrical appliances. Part 2: Immunity. Product category standard
EN : Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC). Part 3: Limit values. Section 2: Limit values for harmonic current emissions (equipment input current/phase)
EN : Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC). Part 3-3: Limits. Limitation of voltage fluctuations and flicker in public low-voltage supply systems (for equipment with rated currents less than and equal to 16A)
The fan needs to pass the home appliance standard EN60335-1, and the second is to pass the safety test.
The safety test content of the fan is as follows:
Rated input voltage test: within the rated range, the fan must meet safety standards; ball pressure test: whether the fan casing will soften under long-term work;
Abnormal situation test: meet the safety test under various special circumstances;
Leakage test: whether the fan has a safety hazard of leakage;
Crash test: Whether the electric fan will be damaged under impact and threaten safety.
Process for CE certification of electric fans:
1. Project application – submit an application to the supervision of the testing agency.
2. Data preparation – According to the standard requirements, the enterprise prepares the relevant certification documents.
3. Product testing – the company sends the samples to be tested to the laboratory for testing.
4. Preparation of reports – certified engineers prepare reports based on qualified test data.
5. Submit for review – the engineer will review the complete report.
6. Issuing the certificate – after the report is verified and correct, the report will be issued
