Amazon Prime day usually takes place in July, when the e-commerce giant deals with various products. According to Reuters, Amazon Prime day may be delayed in 2020 due to the global outbreak of coronavirus.
So far, Amazon has not made an official statement about the delay of Amazon Prime day promotion. The company said it would not announce a specific time for prime day 2020.
Because of covid-19, many people have lost their jobs and are trying to live a normal life. Because people are less likely to spend money on nonessential products in these difficult times, maintaining sales at this time won’t get a good reaction.
As most markets reopen after a brief blockade to contain the coronavirus, most people will be able to return to work and make money from June. If Amazon Prime day falls in July of just one month, people may hesitate to buy. But if the promotion takes place in August, then people may have some savings and buy things other than necessities.
