Amazon UK announced that it will exempt FBA’s long term storage fee for the settlement cycle on May 15. This will apply across the EU, including inventory in the UK, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Czech Republic and Poland.

This benefit is based on the exemption of France and Italy from heavy (over 15 kg) items in April and monthly storage charges. In France and Italy, Amazon stops accepting all orders except basic orders or completely stops transportation.

Amazon logistics’s response to the coronavirus pandemic has hit Amazon logistics sellers hard. When the delivery date is delayed for four to five weeks, Amazon’s settings first stop the sales, but the delivery time is still extended, staring at their products winning the “buybox” discount to FBA, but facing the limitation of FBA’s inventory replenishment and the inability to retrieve the inventory through the unloading order There are still some restrictions on FBA’s commitment to restocking and late delivery, but now it’s days rather than weeks to delay processing of unloading orders.

Given Amazon’s huge frustration with focusing on its products and its devastating financial impact, Amazon released benefits to exempt affected sellers from warehousing charges.

“You can now ship many products to our FBA center, and we appreciate your patience as we have adjusted our facilities to protect our employees and deliver the highest priority products our customers need. We are in the process of making other adjustments to the upcoming storage fees to support you during this period.

For inventory stored in the UK, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Poland and the Czech Republic, we exempt the long-term storage fee of May 15. Although you can continue to create a purge order, there is a delay in completing the request. Likewise, automatic deletion will be delayed.

As previously announced, we waive the monthly storage fee for products over 15kg in April, and we stop collecting customer orders due to social evacuation rules. This applies to stocks stored in the UK, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Poland and the Czech Republic.

As previously announced, in France and Italy, we temporarily stopped accepting orders for low priority products, or our FBA center was temporarily closed, so we waived the monthly storage fees for the affected months in April.
