In the past two days, the Amazon Japan station announced that it will implement new FBA fee changes starting in March next year , including commissions, storage fees, long-term storage fees, and delivery fees, etc., which will all increase by a certain percentage!

According to the announcement, this wave of fee adjustments will be divided into two parts: from March 1st , the sales commission on the Japanese website will increase, and on April 1st , FBA fees including storage fees and logistics fees will be increased .

However, this commission adjustment is only applicable to the categories of clothing and fashion accessories, shoes, bags, and jewelry. The changes are as follows:

①Among the total sales of each product in the clothing category , sales fees of 12% of the product price will be charged for items below 3,000 yen, and 8% of the product price will be charged for the part exceeding 3,000 yen .

②In the total sales of each product in the category of shoes and bags , the part below 7,500 yen is calculated as 12% of the product price, and the part exceeding 7,500 yen is calculated as 6% of the product price .

③Among the total sales of each product in the jewelry category , sales fees will be charged at 10% of the product price for the part below 10,000 yen, and 6% of the product price for the part exceeding 10,000 yen .

At present, there is no change in the commission ratio of other categories, and the above three categories are subject to staged commissions. This thing will test the seller's product pricing strategy even more, and even the overall plan for launching new products next year will be readjusted, which will be affected. Sellers had better prepare early.

The next step is the FBA fee adjustment that has a wider impact. The effective time of these fee adjustments is April 1. The adjustments include:

①The shipping fee for the Small and Light product plan is 15 yen per item .

② Changes in FBA shipping fees: In the new charging standard, category 2 in the standard size is divided into the following three sizes:

Standard-2a ( less than 1000px ): 434 yen per item

Standard-2b ( below 1250px ): 465 yen per item

Standard-2c ( below 1500px ): 485 yen per piece

There is no change in FBA logistics freight for other sizes

③ The fee for small / standard size products (excluding clothing and fashion accessories, shoes and bags) in the FBA inventory storage fee will increase. The specific changes for each billing segment are as follows:

④ The FBA long-term inventory surcharge will also change. It not only increases the long-term storage fee standard after one year of storage, but also adds a new fee to charge for redundant inventory with a storage time between 271 and 365 days. This change will take effect on April 15 , 2023 (the long-term inventory valuation date), and the first billing date will be May 15 , 2023 . The detailed changes are as follows.

I did the math and long-term storage fees have gone up by over 30% ! Moreover, the new billing section also allows sellers to be charged about a quarter of the long-term storage fee three months in advance, and the storage cost of redundant inventory will soar next year!

After Amazon has experienced the worst year this year, it is obvious that it will really be ruthless in raising prices. FBA fees are skyrocketing. Next year’s product strategy and profit margins need to be adjusted again .
