On May 5, Singapore-based Pacific Shipping ( PIL ) plans to order at least six more 8,000TEU dual-fuel LNG -powered container ships.
According to shipbuilders, PIL has contacted three shipyards: Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding, Yangzijiang Shipbuilding Industry, and South Korea’s Samsung Heavy Industries. Considering that Yangzijiang Shipbuilding only provides B -type storage tanks, while PIL prefers GTT Mark III membrane tanks, Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding seems more likely to win the order.
