FTC certification required by Amazon and why

Recently, final plans for changes to the U.S. Federal Trade Commission's (FTC) Energy Efficiency Identification Rule have been announced. The FTC expands lighting coverage. LightingFacts label, including some decorative lights and special bulbs. The notice reportedly completes a review of the Energy Efficiency Identification Rules that the Commission recently oversaw. The rules will take effect within 30 days from the date of publication. With many bulbs on the market coming in smaller packages, the revised rules address the issue of how to display lighting fact information in a compact form. Manufacturers should be aware that if your product is covered by the Energy Efficiency Identification Rule, the FTC has taken action and you must comply with it or it will be punished by law.

What products need to be FTC certified?

The rules ultimately cover bulb types with wattage and light output similar to general service lights. In particular, the final rule defines "special lights" as:

1) The wattage is 30W-199W or 310-2600 lumens;

2) With medium screw base, candle holder, GU-10, or GU-24 base;

3) does not meet the definition of "general service light";

4) At least can work at 110V and 130V.

The thresholds of 30 watts and 310 lumens are defined by Congress and the EPCA as a "general service light" benchmark. Finally, the original rule covers specialty light bulbs that look and operate like traditional incandescent light bulbs, but are not limited to the following, such as vibrating service lamps, harsh-condition use lamps, electrical lamps, and anti-shatter lamps (including shatter protection lamps and shatter protection lamps) )

How to apply for FTC label?

The factory determines whether it is within the mandatory scope and the testing standards used by the product according to the product type;

The factory provides samples to the qualified third-party laboratory for testing, and gets the test report;

Update the downloaded label template according to the test data on the report, so as to obtain the FTC label of a single product;

Upload the FTC label to the website and give the URL address to the Amazon seller;

Amazon sellers do batch upload of tags through the batch upload template.

Note : Some businesses have been uploading tags indiscriminately recently! The model does not match the parameters of the label at all! ! So it's not just about uploading tags! Once found out, the punishment is severe!
