Amazon's US station released an announcement, which sparked heated discussions in the circle.
Due to regulatory requirements, all opaque or single-color Mylar bags must be repackaged from the Amazon store by August 5, 2022. Sellers are required to remove all opaque or solid-colored Mylar bags by August 5, or Amazon will remove these ASINs.
The announcement shows that these ASINs will be removed from Amazon stores if sellers use Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA) and have any remaining inventory of opaque or single-color Mylar bags in Amazon fulfillment centers on or after August 5, 2022 .
What is polyester film?


Amazon links to its "Drugs & Drug paraphernalia" help page, which includes a compliance checklist for products related to drugs and controlled substances. It states in that page, "Products must not be used primarily in the manufacture, preparation or use of controlled substances" – including in the list: "Mylar bags, opaque or single color."


It's unclear what prompted Amazon to focus on mylar bags, especially those that are multicolored, but a small study shows demand for deodorant bags, used to store "herbs," in some cases The need to evade detection by dogs is specifically mentioned below, and Mylar is recommended as a solution on several boards.
This policy is not for products with these film pouches, but for opaque or solid-colored Mylar pouch products that are being sold as merchandise, ie products like the one pictured below.

Amazon's official policy has been updated. YMS recommends sellers to quickly check whether there are such products in their listings, and if so, remove the products in time to avoid touching the policy.
