Amazon's new move!Amazon opens warehousing service for third-party sellers

Wuhan Star Sets Sail – Amazon's New Action!Amazon opens warehousing service for third-party sellers

For cross-border e-commerce sellers, in addition to a stable supply chain and convenient cross-border logistics and transportation, the most important thing is warehousing. Warehousing can help sellers save logistics and transportation time and costs and improve delivery speed.

Xingqihang learned that Amazon has made new moves in warehousing recently. Amazon has announced that it will leverage Amazon Warehousing & Distribution (AWD) to provide sellers with low-cost long-term storage, giving sellers the option to store inventory in Amazon fulfillment centers and seamlessly replenish to fulfillment centers.

It is worth noting that although both Amazon warehouse centers and distribution centers have functions to help sellers store goods, there are still differences between the two. Warehousing centers focus on storage, and distribution centers focus on distribution.

For sellers, warehousing is an important part of Amazon's cross-border e-commerce, and warehousing costs also account for a high proportion of sellers' costs. Amazon's survey of sellers in the United States shows that the three major pain points for sellers in the upstream warehousing and distribution business are high warehousing prices, complex fee structure and insufficient warehousing capacity. For most cross-border e-commerce companies, managing logistics and operations (such as inventory storage, distribution, and order fulfillment) greatly increases the operating cost and difficulty for sellers.

Amazon's new AWD addresses key supply chain challenges, helping sellers grow and manage their businesses while significantly reducing costs. With AWD, sellers can get rid of the time-consuming and cumbersome process of transferring inventory from upstream facilities to Amazon fulfillment centers, send inventory to Amazon fulfillment centers with one click and significantly reduce storage costs, and integrate upstream inventory storage operations with the Amazon fulfillment network , to ensure that stocks remain at normal levels at all times.

Sellers using AWD can also consolidate global inventory, then view and manage this inventory in Seller Central, streamlining operations through a single inventory pool. By 2023, sellers will be able to use AWD to send their inventory to any location, including wholesale customers or brick-and-mortar stores. It will be easier for sellers to operate and manage on Amazon.
