Wuhan Xingqihang E-Commerce Co., Ltd. (referred to as Xingqihang) learned that on November 18th, the Amazon US station announced that it will update the US sales commission and FBA fees from January 17, 2023, and the sales commission will remain unchanged. Changes, fuel and inflation surcharges will be canceled, in addition to reducing the cost of the US FBA's new selection program and expanding the small and light commodity program.
First, referral fees remain the same, and Amazon will eliminate the following fee categories: collectible coins, entertainment collectibles, sports collectibles, and collectible cards. Affected ASINs will be reclassified into the most appropriate product category, which may result in different fees being charged for these reclassified products.
Second, Amazon will update the FBA fee and further refine the fee items, and continue to make the fee more consistent with the basic cost, which is conducive to the effective use of storage space.
Third, Amazon announced the cancellation of separate fuel and inflation surcharges; increased the FBA outbound rate by an average of $0.22, which is lower than the fee increases announced by other fulfillment and logistics providers, and introduced a finer weight level for FBA outbound fees ( at the quarter-pound and half-pound levels);
Amazon will reduce return processing rates for clothing and footwear returned by buyers by an average of $0.20 per return;
Fourth, Amazon will reduce the cost of the new US FBA selection program. If eligible, the average sales rebate of ASINs newly added to FBA will increase from 5% to 10%, and the number of eligible products will be increased, and the eligibility period for certain benefits of the program will also be extended. Rebates will still be available to sellers who meet certain criteria.
Fifth, Amazon will reduce fees by expanding the Small and Light program and increasing the price of eligible items from $10 or less to $12 or less.
In addition, Amazon’s fulfillment fees will still be 30% lower than standard shipping methods offered by other major third-party logistics providers on average , and 70% lower than comparable two-day delivery alternatives on average.
The new plan launched by Amazon will help sellers better cope with the inflation crisis in Europe and America. It can also be seen from this that Amazon is sincere to sellers and wants to maintain long-term cooperation with many Amazon sellers.
