Wuhan Xingqihang was informed that not long ago , Amazon released the " 2022 Italian SME Impact Report". It is understood that in 2021, more than 20,000 Italian small and medium-sized enterprises will sell on Amazon, and so far, these enterprises have created more than 60,000 jobs in Italy.

In addition, more than half of Italian SMEs selling on Amazon have established cross-border operations in 2021, and their total exports will reach around 800 million euros, a year-on-year increase of 255%. Among them, more than 60 million euros of exports came from non-EU countries.

According to Mariangela Marseglia, vice president and country manager of Amazon Italy , the figures are in line with the company's development goal of helping Italian small and medium-sized enterprises to achieve 1.2 billion euros in exports by 2025.

The report also pointed out that in 2021, more than 200 Italian SMEs selling on Amazon will exceed 1 million euros in sales for the first time; about 5,000 SMEs will exceed 100,000 euros in sales. Overall, more than 20,000 businesses sell more than 200 products every minute on Amazon. In terms of online cross-border sales, the top five categories by volume and revenue are Home & Kitchen, Beauty, Sports & Leisure, Industrial & Science, and Health & Personal Care.

Overall, SMEs selling on Amazon are present in all 20 Italian regions. These companies have more than 2,000 sales partners in the three regions of Lombardy (more than 3,250), Campania (more than 2,750) and Lazio (more than 2,000). In addition to this, they have many partners in regions such as Apulia (over 1,700), Veneto (over 1,500), Emilia-Romagna (over 1,500).

Mariangela Marseglia further stated that Amazon is very proud of the fact that more than 20,000 Italian SMEs have created around 60,000 jobs, highlighting the positive impact Amazon has had on the Italian economy. Amazon is able to facilitate the digital transformation of Italian SMEs, offering them the opportunity to open up new channels and help more businesses reach new customers in different countries, in line with the Italian authorities’ plan and goal of “supporting businesses going international”.
