The full name of EPR is Extended Producers Responsiblity, which means Extended Producers Responsibility. EPR is an environmental policy in Europe that requires producers to be responsible for the entire life cycle of the products they launch on the market, that is, from product design to the end of the product life cycle ( including waste collection and disposal). That is to say, sellers have corresponding recycling obligations for the products they sell to the EU.

In 2022, France will incorporate products sold locally by cross-border e-commerce into the EPR system. All cross-border e-commerce sellers must comply with French EPR regulations before they can sell products in France. Generally, sellers who do cross-border e-commerce on Amazon need to do EPR compliance. There are 7 EPR categories clearly stipulated in France before, which are packaging, electrical and electronic equipment, batteries, furniture, tires, paper and textiles. Starting in the second half of 2022, three new categories will be added to the original categories, namely toys, DIY gardening, sports and leisure products.

The French toy safety decree stipulates that a toy refers to a product designed for children under the age of 14 to play or use. Toys can be divided into four categories, including outdoor games (ride-on toys, sports toys, summer toys, equipment, playground toys, etc.); board games, puzzles (under 500 pieces) and models; other toys (dolls, dolls, plush toys, baby toys, miniature cars, construction and exploration sets, etc.); gift toys.
