While Amazon has repeatedly changed its storage capacity, during the peak season, there are not a few sellers whose goods are delayed in being put on the shelves. Behind this may be the logistics provider's distant warehouse and near delivery.

Another logistics expense?The seller starts a claim

In the past two days, some sellers have noticed that Amazon ’s background has been revised, and the receiving information of FBA shipments has changed from “registered” to “registered + warehouse name”. The address is not consistent with the warehouse address . For example, the seller's delivery address is SMF7, but the registered warehouse is XLX2.

This is the case of the recent popular far warehouse near delivery. In order to save transportation costs, the logistics provider will deliver the goods from the distant warehouse to the nearest warehouse . It was mixed in and sent to the FBA warehouse, but this is not the seller's original destination warehouse.

But more often, the goods that the seller wants to send to warehouses such as SCK1 and GYR3 are sent to warehouses near the dock such as ONT8. "First of all, ONT8, LAX9, and LGB8 are large warehouses. After Amazon's background update, this problem quickly attracted attention. After investigation, a seller found that several of his shipments were sent to large warehouses such as ONT8 and LGB8, which were inconsistent with the original addresses of the shipments. In the past, when the shelves were slow, it was always mentioned that "explosion in peak season" did not work.

"Some of our shipments have been sent from distant warehouses to near ones. The solution is to find a freight forwarder to claim compensation. Which batches are actually delivered to which warehouse, and I will settle the freight according to the quotation at that warehouse at that time. In addition to being slow to put on the shelves, delivery from far and near warehouses may also cause performance problems with warehouse exchange fees. A seller said that the shipment was originally going to be sent to the IND9 warehouse in the east of the United States, but the freight forwarder sent it to ONT8 in the west of the United States in order to save costs. He was worried that Amazon would charge a forwarding fee for this, and even incur a performance penalty for account storage.

Some sellers consulted customer service about this, and the other party said that this situation would affect the storage performance, and the seller may be revoked the delivery authority, but Amazon generally does not charge an operation fee for this. This reply can be used as a reference.

Before this publicity, far warehouse near delivery has a long history. Chen Feng, a freight forwarder in Shenzhen, told yien.com that three or four years ago, there were long-distance delivery and near-distance delivery. This situation became more and more rampant last year. These companies that do tail-end delivery are mainly in Shenzhen. How to distinguish between remote warehouse delivery and Amazon internal warehouse transfer?

As for the Amazon system error, Li Hang said that if you make an appointment before delivery, the storage appointment record will show the warehouse information. Secondly, the POD receipt when unloading the goods will also show the delivery time, delivery number, etc., and there will be handwritten information by Amazon people. The probability of Amazon system error is small.

At present, sellers generally begin to check whether there are any mistakes in the previous delivery, and companies with more such operations will also face a wave of rights protection.

Chen Feng said: "Cross-border logistics will be reshuffled, and some people may go bankrupt. Logistics companies, like sellers, are developing rapidly. In fact, they have very little liquidity. If their customers come to claim and their cash flow is stuck, then they will go bankrupt." There will be problems. Like those who fight price wars, shipping for two or eight or three yuan, this is the routine, and they may have lost money in the first place, and then slowly ran away.”

For these companies, they have to survive the current maintenance period before they can talk about future development. After the profit margin of distant warehouse and near delivery disappears, the price of Meixiang Kapai may rise slightly, and the phenomenon of low-price shopping will also decrease.

As one seller said, return to the essence, what kind of price corresponds to what kind of service. Blindly want to reduce the cost from the unit price, without considering cost reduction and efficiency improvement from the whole supply chain, it is inevitable to fall into a pit.
