In May 2022, there was news that Amazon would open up market information to sellers to help sellers improve operational efficiency. Now some industry insiders say that Amazon is opening data to sellers on a small scale by invitation only to promote product selection and effect delivery. It is expected that at the end of the year or early next year, Amazon will officially launch related functions.

Compared with the current situation of 9.5 million sellers in domestic e-commerce, Amazon has more than 6 million sellers around the world, and the markets it covers include most developed countries in the world. Today, Amazon has 17 sites for Chinese sellers, namely North America (United States, Canada, Mexico), Europe (United Kingdom, Germany, France, Spain, Italy, Netherlands, Sweden, Poland), Japan, Australia, India, Middle East and Singapore. As an old-fashioned e-commerce platform, Amazon has rich experience, and the improvement of rules in all aspects will help the operation of cross-border e-commerce sellers.

Starting in 2021, Amazon has been opening up product selection data exclusively for "VC suppliers" (self-operated business suppliers) to third-party sellers. In February 2022, Amazon launched an official product selection tool – "Business Opportunity Detector" to some sellers. This tool can help sellers do keyword searches for market segments, gain insight or even understand consumer demand and competitive product information in advance.

This time, the data service that Amazon has opened to third-party sellers will upgrade the tools and support of third-party brand sellers, innovate consumer insight data, optimize brand position tools, and comprehensively support brand sellers to go overseas.
