As a cross-border foreign trade e-commerce platform, Amazon is welcomed by major merchants at home and abroad, but what is the reason why Amazon attaches so much importance to product safety certification (UL certification)? Because unqualified live products can easily cause fire and endanger people's life and property safety, similar cases have happened before! The UL standard is also the safety testing standard in the Americas! Therefore, for safety reasons, the Amazon platform has strengthened the management and control of UL certification fees for live electrical and electronic products, and many products have been removed from the shelves! It also makes sense! So what kind of certification is the Amazon UL report?

First of all, we have to distinguish the difference between UL certification and UL report:
The United States is a country with very strict security requirements. All electronics manufacturers in the United States have required relevant safety inspections for many years. As Amazon's strategic position in global commerce continues to improve, overseas electronic devices continue to flow into the U.S. market through Amazon, and the United States does not conduct mandatory safety inspections for overseas electronics manufacturers. There have been a number of electronics fire incidents before. In response to this situation, on September 24, 2017, the relevant US departments issued a law specifically for e-commerce, requiring Amazon to be obliged to notify overseas e-commerce sellers selling on the Amazon platform to provide relevant security measures. Before submitting a UL standard test report, Amazon must order the merchant to stop selling. And it is required that the test report must be a qualified report issued by a laboratory accredited by the /17025 standard.
So what is UL certification?
UL certification is a voluntary safety certification in the United States. It requires testing products and auditing factories. There are four quarterly audits and one annual audit each year. In addition to the UL file number fee, the cost is high and the time is long. Many small and medium-sized traders and factories cannot afford the high certification testing fees and post-maintenance fees.
What is an Amazon UL report?
The Amazon platform requires that all electrical and electronic products must be tested in strict accordance with UL standards. The qualified report issued by the /ILAC laboratory does not require factory inspection, the cost is relatively cheap, and the cycle is fast.
