Several cradles recalled due to safety concerns
On May 5, 2021, the US Consumer Commission (CPSC) issued a mandatory recall of a Kolcraft baby bassinet, recall number: 21-125.
Reason for the recall: Infants have been reported to have been turned from their backs to their stomachs or sides, or in other cases, to death when using other manufacturers' reclining sleep products.
On June 4, CPSC recalled two more Fisher-Price baby bassinets.
The cradle below was responsible for the deaths of four infants between April 2019 and February 2020, according to the CPSC.
The babies were reported to be lying unrestrained on their cradles, only to be found lying on their backs. The four babies who died were an 11-week-old in Colorado, a 2-month-old in Vada, a 2-month-old in Michigan and a 4-month-old in Missouri.
Another Fisher-Price baby bassinet, although not involved in an accident, has also been recalled due to safety concerns.
Baby cradles have frequent accidents, and their safety has received great attention. CPSC has begun to strictly review cradle products.
