Recently, some Amazon sellers found that the shipments they just created, and the replenishment restrictions in the afternoon were red. Immediately afterwards, other sellers also found that their storage capacity plummeted, ranging from a few thousand to tens of thousands, almost halving. Since the sellers are preparing for a large number of replenishment for the peak season, it seems that the sellers are caught off guard when the storage capacity is cut, and replenishment has become a problem.
Afterwards, Amazon officially notified:
We want to ensure timely receipt, storage and delivery of products for all sellers using FBA. One way to achieve this is to set replenishment limits so that all sellers can replenish sufficient inventory to meet future buyer demand.
In order to create a successful holiday season, taking into account seasonality and planned promotions, we will be adjusting our restocking limits so that all sellers can store at least four months’ worth of inventory in FBA . All sellers using FBA will receive the quota update, but after this update, about 5% of FBA sellers will be temporarily unable to restock more items because of their already high inventory levels.
Our records show that your current inventory levels (including in-transit shipments) are within our estimated four-month inventory limits, so these limits do not affect your current ability to replenish items.
According to the above notice, only 5% of sellers were restricted this time, but many sellers’ storage capacity was directly cut by 50%-60%, and it was exceeded even before replenishment.
Sellers who stock up in peak season have many restricted sellers whose goods have not been shipped out, and the storage capacity is gone. There is a more tricky situation where a shipment is being prepared and the shipment has not yet been created. If the goods cannot be cleared in time, this means that there is no place to put the goods in the past.
This inventory reduction has a significant impact, and sellers are advised to choose the following two ways to deal with it:
1. Reasonable layout of overseas warehouses
When making stocking plans, products can be shipped to overseas warehouses in advance. Service providers such as Dexin Overseas Warehouses have free storage periods, and they will be replenished to Amazon warehouses when Amazon has storage capacity. You can also move Amazon's inventory to overseas warehouses, which can reset the inventory age and sell it for a second time. In addition, it can be used in combination with overseas warehouses, which makes the delivery more flexible and efficient, and saves logistics costs.
2. Clear inventory
Take the time to clear excess inventory and increase the sell rate. To clear the inventory, you can choose discount promotions, or find overseas warehouses. After the product is cleared, the space can be reserved for the peak season.
