What is CPC certification and which products require CPC certification?Consequences of not doing CPC certificationHow to contact the formal testing agency for the standard format of CPC certificationThe reason for not passing the CPC certification audit
Recently, many sellers suffered from listing removal and were required to provide cpc certification reports.
That's because Amazon has stepped up its scrutiny of children's products.
This article takes you to a comprehensive understanding of CPC certification.
What is CPC Certification?
CPC certification, the full name of Children's Product Certification.
It is an accredited laboratory, according to different applicable standards, after completing the test, the report drafted by the testing agency or the seller.
Suitable for all products for children under 12 years old.
If the applicable age to be filled in the product description/commodity editor is under 12 years old, it will be subject to CPC review sooner or later.
Which products require CPC certification?
In principle, all products for children under 12 years old are required.
If the product is applicable to a wide range of ages and you do not want to do CPC, you can also change the applicable age of editing to 12 years old or older.
But remember, the description can no longer use the description of baby, or under 12 years old.
Common ones are toys, maternal and child products.

Consequences of not doing CPC certification
*The Consumer Product Safety Council (CPSC), which has been upgraded to a participating government agency, will assist and enhance U.S. Customs cargo inspections.
If it is spot-checked by the U.S. Customs, the customs will be detained and will not be released until the CPC certification is submitted.
If the listing is forcibly removed by Amazon, the CPC needs to be submitted and the listing will be restored after passing the review.
Standard Format for CPC Certification
CPC certification does not have an actual certificate, but a report drafted by the testing agency or the seller.
Although not limited to the format, several pieces of information must be included, mainly:
Product Information Applicant Information U.S. Importer Information Date of Manufacture and Manufacturer Address Test Standards (U.S. Regulations, Regulations, and Standards) Laboratory Information Test Date and Address

How to contact a regular testing agency
Amazon and Customs only accept reports from accredited laboratories.
The CPSC official website published the list of accredited laboratories.
To judge whether the service provider is a formal accredited laboratory, you can directly search for the name of the laboratory.
Alternatively, first filter the list of all laboratories located in China.
In the later CPC report, the laboratory address and name must correspond to the query results on the official website.
Reports can be downloaded
The detailed address is the address to be filled in on the CPC report
Why did the CPC certification audit fail?
The CPC certification submission and review failed, generally because the information is incomplete or not correct. Common reasons:
SKU or ASIN information does not match certification standards and product does not match Missing US importer information Lab information does not match or does not approve product edit page, CPSIA warning field is not filled (if product contains parts) product is missing safety information, or compliant Logo (traceable source code)
Certification Criteria Must Test Items
Toy:
CPSIA total lead + phthalate;
ASTMF963 Toy Standard;
Small parts (for toys already covered by ASTMF963);
other requirements

Importer Information
You can fill in your company address before. But now many will be rejected.
There are two ways to deal with it now:
Fill in the overseas warehouse contact information and fill in the US local company address (not very recommended)
If there is no US company address, you can fill in an actual US company information.
Here we can use the US version of Sky Eye to check:
It should be noted that if it is detained, the importer may be notified directly.
So the contact phone number must be real.
You can apply for a Google Voice.
Product Safety Information and Registration Cards
This refers to a warning message on the product or packaging.
*There is also a warning message, which is filled in the CPSIA field in the editor.
Compliance mark (traceable source code)
This generally refers to contact information. It needs to be reflected on the product or packaging.
One includes: manufacturer's name, address, contact information.
