IC is the abbreviation of Industry Canada. As a government agency, it is responsible for the certification of electrical and electronic products entering the Canadian market.

Its responsible products are roughly divided into: radio and television equipment, information technology equipment, radio equipment, telecommunication equipment, engineering and medical equipment, etc.

There are 2 ways of IC certification:

1. IC: self-verification, IC Certification; for categories: IT-type computer peripheral products without radio frequency functions

2. IC ID: CN (Company Number, up to 6 digits) + UPN (Unique Product Number, up to 8 digits); for category: wireless radio frequency products

Instructions for IC ID application:

1. Must have Canadian representative address information.

2. The label should contain the following information (manufacturer's name or trademark, model name, IC ID number).

Relevant standards for IC certification:

1. The standard of IC certification is basically the same as that of the FCC. Currently, IC only has restrictions on electromagnetic interference.

2. ICES-001 simulation equipment: Industrial, Scientific and Medical Radio Frequency Generators.

3. ICES-003 digital terminal equipment: Interference-Causing Equipment Standards-Digital Apparatus, such as ICES003: ITE: products and computer peripheral office equipment.

4. IC RSS Series low-power wireless radio frequency products for transmitting and receiving equipment. Such as: RSS 210, applicable products: wireless mouse and keyboard, wireless remote control toys and various low-power wireless radio frequency products, CS03 (telecommunications terminal products PSTN).

Canadian IC ID application process:

1: Fill in the application form (our company provides a blank template)

2: Provide product information "product instruction manual, schematic diagram, circuit diagram, block diagram, working principle and function description, need to provide product BOM table (bill of materials)"

3: Quotation (determine the test standard, test time and corresponding cost according to the information provided)

4: Payment and sample delivery for testing (After the applicant confirms the quotation, sign the "Application Form for Filing" and "Service Agreement" and pay the full project fee, and prepare the test prototype.)

5: Our company arranges the test

6: After the test is passed and the report is completed, our company will submit the data to the authorized agency for review.

7: After the audit is completed, the institution issues the IC ID certificate, and the enterprise can use the IC mark on the product after obtaining the IC ID certification.
