Amazon US Marketplace announced that in order to prepare for the 2021 “holiday sales season” and create more storage space, Amazon launched a new option to automatically remove obsolete inventory. The following is the announcement:
The 2021 “holiday sales season” is approaching. In order to create more storage space for the seller’s products, Amazon has changed the automatic removal inventory.
Automatic removal of obsolete inventory can help sellers save long-term storage costs, improve inventory performance index scores, and free up more space to store more and better-selling inventory.
Amazon has expanded the scope of automatic removal of obsolete inventory and added value recovery options. The following inventory can be deleted automatically:
Goods stored in the operation center for more than 365 days and subject to long-term storage fee
Asin that has not been sold for six months or more and has been stored in the operation center for more than 180 days
The seller can recover the value of the above obsolete inventory through the liquidation option. Using the latest value recovery options, products are cleared through the wholesale liquidator. The net recovery amount of the cleared product is then transferred to the seller’s account. For more information, please visit Amazon logistics clearing.
If the seller needs to return the inventory, please visit the auto deliverable inventory settings and provide a valid return address. Sellers can also choose to automatically donate or recycle to dispose of obsolete inventory.
