Event background:

Sellers on Amazon Canada have recently received an email from Amazon, informing sellers whose products belong to radio equipment, interference equipment and terminal equipment to prepare the product compliance ISED certification information to upload to the Amazon backend on September 30, 2022, otherwise the product will face removal from the shelves . This is Canada's certification requirements for products such as radio equipment following the mandatory requirements of FCC certification in the United States. ISED certification is not much different from FCC certification, and the certification method is the same, but ISED certification currently only has restrictions on electromagnetic interference.

Glossary:

Canadian ISED certification (formerly IC certification, also known as ICES certification), IC is the English abbreviation of the former Industry Canada. Since 2016, IC has officially changed its name to Canada's Ministry of Innovation, Science and Economic Development (Innovation, Science and Economic Development).

Impact of the name change:

1. The letterhead of all authorization letters shall be replaced by the original Industry Canada with Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada;

2. The original IC number is renamed ISED Number, but its expression on the label remains the same. Or IC: XXXXX-YYYYYYYYY (up to 14 digits, CN (company code 6 digits) + product code 8 digits);

ISED certification is valid for a limited period as long as the standard directives are not changed.
