Wuhan Xingqihang E-Commerce Co., Ltd. (Xingqihang for short) learned online that the "White Paper on the Development of China's Export Cross-border E-commerce Industry Cluster" jointly released by Amazon Global Store and Caixin Think Tank at the end of October shows that on the demand side, global e-commerce Retailers continued to grow, and their share in global retail sales increased steadily. According to forecasts, the growth of global retail sales in 2022 is about 4.7%, while the growth rate of global retail e-commerce is expected to be 9.7%, which is more than twice the growth rate of global retail sales. E-commerce accounts for nearly 20% of global retail sales and is expected to reach 24% in 2026.
Compared with retail e-commerce, global cross-border e-commerce has performed more strongly. In 2022, cross-border e-commerce sales in global e-commerce will reach 1.5 trillion US dollars, accounting for 26% of retail e-commerce, and it is expected to reach 35.6% in 2026. Millennials and Generation Z have become the new main force of global online shopping, and their influence on consumption has become increasingly prominent.
At present, millennials have accounted for one-fifth of the total population of the United States, and generation Z has more than 43 million people with spending power (16-25 years old), and their personalized and trendy consumer appeals are becoming more and more popular. Many places tend to respond quickly and satisfy online shopping, which brings opportunities for emerging Chinese brands to go overseas.
These have created favorable conditions for Chinese companies to go overseas. Even individual sellers and small team sellers composed of two or three people have achieved annual sales of tens of millions on Amazon.
