Amazon promises three major reforms! Air China Cargo launches IPO, Cainiao holds 15% stake

1. Amazon promises three big changes

On December 30th, the European Commission announced that Amazon promised to make reforms in three aspects to solve its alleged monopoly problems:

First, in terms of data use, Amazon promises not to use non-public third-party seller data to develop its own retail business, including automated tools, self-operated retail, and private brands.

Second, in terms of Buy Box rules, Amazon promises to treat all sellers fairly. Amazon will revise the display scene of the Buy Box so that the Buy Box is no longer occupied by a single seller. If there are sellers who can provide significant differences in price and delivery, they can also be highlighted on the front end.

Third, in terms of Prime rules, Amazon promises to set fair and just non-discriminatory standards. Amazon will allow Prime sellers to freely choose logistics service providers instead of having to use FBA warehouse logistics. Although Amazon can easily obtain information on third-party logistics providers used by sellers, it promises not to use this information to develop its own logistics.
