Introduction of UL1363 test items and test methods for power strips

1. Leakage current test
The sample of TVSS should be connected to the nominal voltage. The meter's input impedance is equal to the impedance of a 1500ohm resistor connected by a 0.15µF capacitor. The resistor is placed between the grounded power conductor and an accessible metal part or between the metallic copper foil wrapped around the housing and the grounding post of the plug inserted into the socket. The leakage current value can be read out at this time. A dual interface TVSS should operate at rated current in order to be thermally stable.
Method 2:
The test of Method 1 was performed on the sample intact and repeated. The sample was placed in humid air for 48 hours, where the temperature was 32±2°C (90±4°F) and the relative humidity was 88±2%. The temperature on the sample was slightly higher than that of the humidity chamber. high to prevent condensation, then the leakage current can be read.
2. Impact test
This test is performed on 3 samples in sequence, with one impact per housing position.
A 6.8J (5.0ft lb) impact shall be applied to each side of the sample. The impact is made with a steel ball 50.8mm (2in.) in diameter and 0.535kg in weight. For a horizontal plane, the ball falls from the height it can hit. For the vertical plane, the ball shall be suspended from the wire and perform the prescribed strike like a pendulum clock. When the wire is in a vertical position, the ball hits the surface.
For this test, the sample should be placed on a rigid support surface, and the impacted surface and edge should also be placed on a rigid support surface.
As a result, the test sample shall be able to withstand the specified shock without exposure of live parts. There are no insulation faults or arcing after the potential is applied.

3. Drop Impact Test Each of the three samples was dropped three times onto the concrete floor from a height of 3ft. The positions of the three drops are completely different.
After the test, the sample shall be subjected to the dielectric withstand voltage test. The test is between non-insulated live parts and the case (the case is wrapped with copper foil), and between the positive and negative terminals.

5. The low temperature impact test sample is placed in a circulating air box at a temperature of 0.0n2ψC for 24 hours. After the sample is removed from the box, 6.8 J (5.0 ft-b) of impact should be applied to each side.
The impact is carried out with a steel ball with a diameter of 50.8 mm (2 in.) and a weight of 0.535 kg. For a horizontal plane, the ball falls from the height it can hit. 6. Temperature test The samples of double-plug TVSS are tested under the conditions of maximum rated current (15A), voltage (125V) and frequency (60Hz).
Stop the test until the temperature has stabilized.
Test with a thermometer. The thermocouple meter is installed in the lower position marked "RESULT".
Read the maximum temperature from the temperature indicating potentiometer and record it near the thermometer position given below.
Use a connection plug with a solid knife switch to test the temperature of the receptacle contacts. The thermometer is mounted on the knife switch plug or on the socket terminal closest to the socket surface.

Seven, installation suitability test sample installation
a) Install according to the conditions specified by the manufacturer.

b) in the most severe installation position.
The test weight, equal to 4 times the weight of the TVSS, but not less than 5lbs, hangs in the middle of the TVSS for 1 minute.

9. Stress Relief Test Hold the power cord of TVSS by hand, the length of the cord [install the cord as the starting point. ] is 2.54mm (1 in.). Push the thread into the threader with any force not exceeding 26.7N (61lbf).

X—Indicates that the wire cannot return to the original creep length without damage to the insulating plug.
A— means that the thread can return to the original threading grandson.

10. One of the samples should be installed on a vertical surface for the impact test of the installation of the Sun PIN pin:
a) use manufacturer-supplied hardware,
or
b) Use NO.8×3/4 in. wood screw
When the screw is mounted on the back of the PIN pin, the distance between the mounting surface and the back of the housing is 6.4mm (1/4in.). Each mounting sun uses a force of 6.8J (5.0ft-1b) for one impact. The force applying object is a steel ball with a diameter of 50.8mm (2in.) and a weight of 0.535kg (1.18lbs). The ball is suspended by wire and acts as a pendulum clock. The vertical distance of the swing is 1.29mm (51in.).

Thirteen, insulation material withstand voltage test
TVSS samples shall have all restraint parts or direct-actuated connection parts removed. The test potential is slowly increased from 0 to the specified voltage, maintained at the maximum voltage value for 1 minute, and then applied to the following test locations:
1. Apply 1250Vac between non-insulated live parts and ground contacts without parts;
2. Apply 1250Vac between the positive and negative charged parts.

14. Grounding Continuity Test Method Connect the grounding pin of the plug and the grounding pin of the socket to check the continuity of the sample with a current of 30A. This current is drawn from a power supply with a frequency of 60Hz. The power supply is unloaded, the voltage between the ground connection line and the accessible non-live metal part does not exceed 6V, and then the voltage drop between the two connection points is measured.
