Necessity for LED lighting products to be certified by FCC in the United States
LED lamps exported to the United States must be certified by FCC , because the Federal Communications Commission of the United States has made clear requirements on EMC and Telecom for electronic and electrical products entering the US market. Electronic and electrical products need to obtain FCC certification to enter the United States smoothly For sales in the market, the US Federal Communications Commission ( FCC ) has released the KDB document on the certification and testing of RF LED lights: 640677 D01 RF LED Lighting v01 . It is stated that electronic and electrical products with a frequency above 9KHZ must be subject to strict electromagnetic interference control, and LED lamps exported to the United States need to do FCC certification and testing.
When luminaires and lighting fixtures are certified, they need to meet the requirements of relevant regulations such as product safety ( Safety ), electromagnetic compatibility ( EMC ), energy consumption, and IP dustproof and waterproof grades.
As battery-powered lamps only use low-voltage direct current, there is no product safety concern, and only EMC requirements need to be considered; if the power supply ( Adapter ) used with it is a product that has passed the corresponding standard safety certification, safety considerations are very important. Simple, EMC depends on whether the internal circuit uses Oscillator ( oscillator )/Clock (clock circuit).
Lamp FCC certification process:
1. Fill out the application form
2. Provide product information
3. Send samples
4. Test OK
5. Issue a report or certificate
6. The test period is 3-5 working days
