    In the process of operation, the seller will inevitably receive returns from some buyers. Some of the returned goods can be sold again. However, a large part of the returned goods are judged by Amazon as “buyer damaged” or “defective” in the background.

    Recently, Amazon launched a new donation policy for sellers’ redundant and unsold inventory in France

    From September 20, 2020, Amazon will automatically donate eligible inventory to local charities if the seller chooses to dispose of the goods in France.

    By working with selected charities, Amazon logistics (FBA) helps sellers eliminate supply chain barriers, language barriers and cost barriers in the donation process. In addition, the seller is entitled to a special VAT exemption on donations. Amazon will charge a regular disposal fee.     For donations in 2020, Amazon will provide donation receipts for donation inventory from January. Amazon will generate donation receipt based on the seller’s business information in the seller’s platform. Verify or update your company information on the business address page to ensure accuracy. Please note that Amazon cannot reissue the donation receipt.

    However, there is a point to note that Amazon system will automatically remove the seller’s unsalable items at a certain time, which is usually 30 days later. In other words, if the unsalable products are not processed within 30 days, Amazon will automatically remove them. The removed products will either be discarded or used by Amazon for charity.

    Therefore, for high-value products, operators should pay attention to timely check whether there are unsalable goods in the inventory. If so, they should manually remove the orders to the overseas warehouse for labeling and replacement or send them back for repair and replacement. If the value of the goods is low, they should be disposed of in time. After all, the unsalable products have to be stored in the warehouse all the time, and the storage fee will be charged.
