The new EU Cosmetics Regulation (EC) No/2009 stipulates that cosmetics sold in the EU must develop a set of product information files (Product Information File, PIF) and be available for official authorities to inquire at any time. This data file contains all information on the product, manufacturer and responsible person and must be updated from time to time.
Similar to the current Product Information Package (PIP), it will include a Cosmetic Safety Report and a GMP Declaration of Conformity.
Products that have been notified under the current Directive/EEC also need to provide PIFs that comply with the new regulations.
After the last batch of products is put on the market, the responsible person shall keep it for 10 years.

The PIF report is mainly to check whether the product information is complete. The CPSR report and the information contained in the CPSR are the core of the PIF. Therefore, to do the PIF report, the CPSR report must be completed first.
