Amazon works with a wide range of external certifications, including government agencies, nonprofit organizations, and independent laboratories, to help us distinguish more sustainable products. Amazon focuses on certifications that are reputable, transparent, and focused on protecting the natural world. We will regularly assess and reassess the certification environment to ensure we include the best partners to help customers purchase more sustainable products.

Compact by design
Compact Design Products, while not always looking very different, have a more efficient design, with excess air and water removed, the product requires less packaging and is shipped more efficiently. At scale, these small differences in product size and weight lead to significant carbon reductions.
Pre-owned Certified
Pre-Owned Certified Products are inspected, cleaned and (if applicable) repaired to an excellent standard of functionality. By purchasing pre-owned certified products instead of new, customers can extend the life of their products, reduce e-waste, and reduce the extraction of raw materials. These products are backed by the Amazon Renewed Guarantee.

The Climate Friendly Pledge's externally certified certified products cover categories as diverse as grocery, home, fashion, beauty and personal electronics. All products participating in the program will be clearly marked on the search results and display pages, and there will be a dedicated area on Amazon's main website to display these products.
This "climate-friendly plan" is a new initiative by Amazon. The program can label some products with sustainable certification, which means that consumers with advanced climate improvement awareness can more easily reach these climate-friendly products.
