German WEEE upload steps and precautions

On October 6, the Amazon platform opened the German WEEE upload channel. Sellers should upload the WEEE-Reg.-Nr number to the background in time. If the registration number has not been uploaded on January 1, 2023, Amazon will take measures such as blocking and suspending sales of non-compliant products.

Upload process:

The first step is to log in to the seller platform, go to the producer responsibility extension compliance information page to submit your WEEE-Reg.-Nr number, or click the prompt box on the Amazon platform to directly enter the upload interface

The second step is to select the corresponding registration category

According to the category selection of their own products, the products of domestic sellers are generally the fifth category. If you are not sure about your product category, you can find a service provider who helps you register for consultation or click ( /nF )Inquire.

The third step, in the corresponding registration category, fill in the WEEE-Reg.-Nr number

If the seller is a distributor, you can use the WEEE-Reg-Nr number provided by the upstream supplier to upload. When uploading, you must check "I have received this electrical and electronic equipment scrap registration provided by my supply chain producer. No". If the seller submits his own registration number, just ignore this option.

PS : The seller only needs to fill in the 8 digits of the registration number when filling in, no need to add DE before the number

Finally click submit

After providing information on Seller Central, Amazon will verify your submission with the appropriate government agency or producer responsibility organization. Amazon may take up to 5 business days to complete the verification of the registration number.

Once verified by Amazon, the status next to the seller ID will change from "Submitted" to "Active" or "Inactive + Inactive Reason". If the status is "valid", it proves that the submission is successful and you can sell the product with confidence.

If the status is "invalid", the seller can take corresponding actions according to the reasons provided by Amazon, and then re-upload the registration number.

Sellers are required to submit a WEEE-Reg.-Nr number upload for all brands of the device type, and check that each page has been submitted. (Maximum 5 records are displayed per page)

3. Why can't some sellers see the upload port of the corresponding category of WEEE in Germany?

Situation 1 : Only sellers who have done brand registration can receive the upload port of the corresponding category of WEEE on Amazon Germany. Sellers who have not yet registered the brand are estimated to wait until the end of October to see it.

Situation 2 : For those who have done brand registration but do not have the German WEEE registration number corresponding to the category upload port, it is recommended that the seller make a complaint on the platform.

Situation 3 : The seller's German WEEE category registration is not complete or the brand is not complete. In this case, the seller is advised to supplement the registration of the corresponding category and brand or contact the registered service provider to complete the registration.

4. How to check whether the upload is successful?

Sellers can view verification results on the Compliance Portal within a few days of submission.

5. The most important point: sellers should regularly check the compliance portal for new brands or device types that require a WEEE-Reg.-Nr. number to ensure that WEEE is uploaded for all brands and device types on sale -Reg.-Nr. number.
